Tips and Warnings
- Do your lights flicker and dim at the same time? This could be a serious problem, this situation could mean you are at risk of an electrical fire. Call an electrician to take a look at your wiring to be sure, whether or not you call K-Electric it is important you get this looked at immediately.
- Compact fluorescent lights perform better in open areas such as lamps or outdoors.
- Make sure your bulb and ballast wattage and size match.
- Do not exceed the maximum recommended wattage for a fixture.
- When inserting a light bulb make sure you hold the light bulb by the base and not the glass.
- Make sure that you have the appropriate lights for dimmers, not all compact fluorescent lights can be used in conjunction with dimmers.
- Cheap light bulbs might not do the job effectively, and may cost more in the long run.
- Remember that long life bulbs are dimmer than regular incandescent light bulbs. Choose your light bulb wattage with this in mind.
- Do not use halogens in areas you turn the lights off and on frequently. Halogens need to be on for an extended period of time to function properly.
- Always use the light bulb as directed!
