Ungrounded System
Determining if your system is grounded or ungrounded is critical to living in a safe home. Look at one of your wall outlets and you will see there are either two or three slots. Each of these slots should correspond to a wire inside your wall. If you have only two slots in most of your outlets, you most likely
have an ungrounded system. In many cases, someone untrained has illegally placed a 3-pronged outlets on an ungrounded system.
Why a grounded electrical system vs. an ungrounded electrical system? Grounded is a much safer system, because it helps your overload breaker panel work to protect your home from fires starting inside of your walls. Also much of today's sensitive modern electronic equipment depends on this third wire to work properly and accurately.
